Belgium will be looking to get their Nations League campaign back on track when they travel to Iceland on Wednesday evening.

A 2-1 defeat by England at the weekend means they are now a point behind the Three Lions, but the Red Devils will certainly fancy their chances against an Iceland side without a point from three games.

Erik Hamren’s side lost 3-0 at home to Denmark in their last Nations League fixture, leaving them in serious danger of relegation to League B with three fixtures left.

Iceland vs Belgium Latest Odds

Belgium’s loss to England was their first competitive defeat in almost two years since they went down 5-2 in Switzerland, and bet365 make them just 1/4 (1.25) favourites to claim the points in Reykjavik.

Iceland edged Romania in their Euro 2020 qualifying semi-final last week but are 10/1 (11.0) to get revenge for their 5-1 thrashing in the reverse fixture.

The hosts have drawn just one of their last competitive matches and it is 19/4 (5.75) that they pick up a much-needed point here.

Iceland vs Belgium Team News

Roberto Martinez may shake up the eleven that lost to England, with Jeremy Doku and Yari Verschaeren amongst those who could start after coming off the bench at Wembley.

Hamren could also be set to make changes for this one as Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Mikael Anderson push to be included from the off.

Iceland vs Belgium Preview

Martinez will be looking for big improvement from his side after an insipid performance at Wembley saw his team have just two shots on target at Wembley – a far cry from their usual efforts in competitive fixtures.

Prior to Sunday, the Red Devils had scored seven goals in their two Nations League games and plundered 40 in their 10 victories in Euro 2020 qualifying.

Iceland’s 3-0 defeat, however, was more in keeping with their form in the last two years, and makes it seven defeats from their seven Nations League games since the tournament was introduced.

Iceland vs Belgium Tips and Predictions

Belgium’s loss against England was most likely a blip rather than being indicative of future results, and there is value in taking Martinez’s men on the -2.0 Asian Handicap at 2.425 with bet365.

Not only did the Red Devils win the reverse fixture 5-1 just last month, they also beat Iceland 2-0 and 3-0 in the first iteration of the Nations League and should have little trouble dispatching Hamren’s men once again.
